Spring/Summer Aeration

Break up compacted soil with an Aeration!

Aerating a lawn provides big benefits. Removing small cores of soil from your lawn reduces soil compaction and promotes root growth for healthier grass! Compacted soil does not allow sufficient oxygen to reach the grass’ roots. Without oxygen, roots can’t grow and absorb water and nutrients like they’re supposed to.

Other benefits include:

  • Fertilizers and nutrients get access to the roots. It also prevents run-off.
  • Water can better soak the soil and reach the roots.
  • Thatch can more easily be broken up.
  • Compacted soil is loosened which allows the root system to grow.

The Turf Brothers Process

Temperature-wise, once we are clear of any late winter freeze, typically around the first week of April, we will begin Aerations on Bermuda turf.

We only use the best equipment to get the job done right, the first time! We have a 30″ ride on unit for the large areas, and a 25″ push unit for the tighter areas in your yard.

We will let you know 2 days in advanced before your scheduled aeration and will provide you a small to-do list, to ensure your lawn is prepped for a great aeration:

  • Water heavily the morning of, to ensure we pull solid and deep cores
  • Mark any sprinkler heads or any other in-ground devices so we do not puncture them

We will then come out and do a minimum of one pass. In most cases we will overlap to ensure we have maximum coverage.
